Once they have gained your trust and your defences are down, they will ask you (either subtly or directly) for money, gifts or your banking/credit card details. They may also ask you to send pictures or videos of yourself, possibly of an intimate nature. Often the scammer will pretend to need the money for some sort of personal emergency.

If he asks for MONEY - Do you even need to ASK anyone at all?
Reader comment on item: in response to reader comment: Submitted by LeMew United StatesOct 19, 2015 at 10:36 I'm unsure how so many women get confused about this, because you would never give someone you've never met money in a regular situation.
I assume the just click for source "sweet talk" issue has many of you conflicted - but it really shouldn't.
If a man is asking you for money ANY MAN, ANY CULTURE that is obviously enough reason ALONE for you to re-evaluate the relationship and run in the other direction.
In the culture of Islam, and especially with Middle Eastern lady asking for money from my personal experiences and knowing many they would NEVER lower themselves and put aside check this out pride to ASK a woman for money.
Certainly NOT a woman that they love, and are planning a future with.
When I married my husband, he explained in full the process of the culture and what it means to be a husband.
You are taking responsibility for your wife financially.
If you are not financially able, you don't get married.
I did not know until we were married he explained to me that there would be a dowry provided to me and decided by myself spades money online my representative.
Usually this would be my family, but in my care because I have none, the Iman represented and negotiated my dowry when we got married.
We actually signed paperwork as a contract that this money would be given to me, and be mine and only mine.
His fiancee is from England, but the family is Muslim and they will not allow their daughter to move forward even though she wants to because of this.
Taking care of your wife financially is not just something seen as an obligation is it a high matter of pride and ANY Muslim who acts differently is one you should be wary of.

That leads, by her estimate, to as much as $1.5 million in lost income over the woman’s career. The gap is closing somewhat among younger women, who are more likely to ask for raises and are more likely to be the family’s primary breadwinner, but women are still far from parity when it comes to negotiating pay.

This is a moderated subreddit.
Other Related Sub-reddits Related: SFW Sports: Schools: Region: Info Sources: News: Blogs: Events: Common Info: I was walking into my apartment when a lady pulled up in a car with her kid in the back begging me for gas money because her mom is in the hospital and she needs to drive home.
She was crying, and seemed really sincere at the time.
I gave her 20 bucks and she asked me for my phone number and drove away.
She said she would call me and pay me back tomorrow morning and how thankful she was.
So, I googled her phone number because she called me after she had my number so I would have hers.
I can clearly see why she pulled up and asked me- I'm a 24 year old girl that smiles at everyone.
I was an easy target.
I'm also a poor grad student that doesn't have 20 dollars to waste on someone that is a total liar.
I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else in the area, and what they have done about it.
Should I call the police to report it?
Really not sure the next step to take, or if anyone has heard of this insane lady before.
Please don't let the same thing that happened to me tonight happen to you!
I was trying to be a good citizen, but I ended up just being stupid.
The rule always is: you can buy food or gas or clothing for a stranger, but never give them money.
And on that note, outside the Brueggers in SF in the financial district there was a guy who would ask "Can anyone spare a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter?
She must be getting wiser.
Sadly there isn't much more you can do about things like this than try not to be scammed.
Over the last 4 years she's approached me at least 3 times, one of my roommates at least you money for scarface question times She likes to walk outside around dusk and looks sweet-heartedand all of my other roommates at least once 3-4 roommates over the years.
Each time we basically just say "same story different day?
It's an expensive lesson to learn, but if people really need help there are services that offer it, and if you really want to help you can donate to those services.
Next time you have someone ask you for money, just tell them you don't carry cash.
Edit: Read article, there's a guy who hangs out near the Sunoco on Craig and claims to be visiting Pittsburgh for the first time.
His story is he got jumped and has to get back to -wherever- fast or he'll lose his job.
Can't you just help him out?
My favorite part of his story is how he mispronounces "Forbes" as "For-bees".
Watch out for him too.
It was amazing how he took that bus trip every week.
He like hanging near the Sunoco in Oakland, but I've encountered him Downtown and in Shadyside too.
When she approached me twice in one week, I called her out for "getting stuck" in the Southside so often.
I just keep on walking.
I just took a mini vaca to the South side and ran into that prat.
Sadly, I fell for it, not living on the flats for about two years now.
Thanks for the info.
I grabbed some quarters out of my car rather than open my wallet after I had visited the ATMjust to make him go away.
If he's scamming people, he's scum.
I told her I needed that money and she was all "oh but my daughter" OKAY.
I try telling people I don't carry cash, but those people in the red shirts who ask for money for the children or whatever that are all over Oakland and Bloomfield say "Oh, that's no problem, we can take a card!
She told me about it later because she realized afterwards that it was definitely a scam same story- need gas for hospital, car seat in the back and I felt bad that she had been so naive.
His excuse was that he needed money for a bus transfer so that he could get downtown blah blah blah.
I didn't trust him so I said I couldn't help but if he wasn't in a hurry he could walk downtown in about an hour or play for money />Then he walked away.
I think 1-2 days later he tried the SAME story on me again, not realizing I was the same person.
I just told him I didn't have money and walked away.
Walks with a limp?
Talks lady asking for money a cell-phone in hiding so no one sees him do it?
If so, I see him all over read more damn place.
The first time we met him he tried his story on me - by then I was just jaded enough to say no and walk away.
I waved her off and told her it was a scam, then watched my back the rest of my way home.
I was pretty glad I was walking with my boyfriend that night.
The last time I saw her was in 2012, but that's when I moved out of the East End.
Obviously she's making bank with this hustle or she would have moved on to a "different career" in the last ten years.
I told her she needed to step away from me while I'm using the ATM.
She starts screaming about how I'm an awful person for not helping her and then some random person stepped in and threatened to pepper spray her so she left.
She said she worked for an airline company and that she would get me free tickets.
That's when I knew she was full of shit.
It seems the airline thing got old so she switched to an attorney.
She had the nerve to tell me "IF you ever need representation.
But then the airline stuff.
I was thinking "just take my money and shut up I know I'll never see it again.
I gave her a dollar; it was all I had, but I thought for a while it was a scam.
At first I felt good because she seemed really distressed.
Then I started to think about it, and it went downhill.
I've gotten hit with the same thing before as well.
Sign says you have just lost your job and you have a family of six?
I feel really bad when they have a kid there with them, but For play money night games online figure if they read more cared about their family they'd be home updating their resume instead.
I am a poor grad student and she has my 20 bucks.
Same name, same story give or take a few details.
She does occasionally get arrested so if you want to contact police, you wouldn't be the first.
I'm sure police in Oakland are very familiar with her.
I am sorry she scammed you though.
She should be in the new student guidebook or something.
Thanks for the kind words, though.
I'm a grad student who is from Pittsburgh but I've never heard the stories before!
I told my friends and they were like.
How have you not heard of her??
Let people know this web page is going on.
My grandma lives in the area and a news story would really help let older people potential targets know what to look out for.
Could anybody more law-savvy tell me what she'd be charged with?
I would love this to get more publicity because I know it has happened to a lot of poor and unsuspecting people.
I am a Pittsburgh play 100 pandas slot machine game for free and have never heard anything about this lady, even though now it seems like she is play 100 pandas slot machine game for free popular.
They had her stopped outside of Benedum in the Spring.
She's been around for 2 years, and has been doing it in Squirrel Hill on Murray Avenue as well.
I just feel bad for the kid.
She hit me up as a freshman 4 years ago and I totally fell for it.
Luckily I didn't have any cash so she left with nothing.
She gave me please click for source story of how she needed gas to get to the hospital.
I glanced at her dash, and pointed out to her that she in fact had a full tank of gas and that she should try harder when trying to trick people out of money.
She drove away pretty angrily after that.
I never gave money though because I smelled bullshit, and it was the same person more than once.
When I got approached, the lady told me she worked at the airport and all the same things you said.
I told her I was broke, and she yelled at me.
playing lol for strange, but whatever.
EDIT - Hit submit before I wanted to -This was in Oakland, by the way.
I thought this was the Pitt subreddit, so there's that for what it's worth.
She told me if I ever need representation to call her haha I think she might need her own lawyer.
Sorry this happened to you, hell it's happened to many many, but calling the cops or trying to mete out justice isn't going to change anything.
Just don't let anyone scam you out of twenty dollars again.
Hell that's a pretty cheap lesson really.
Some people learn that it in the form of sub-prime mortgages and credit cards ; That's expensive.
It certainly seems to be way more popular than I thought.
It definitely won't be happening again.
I'm very lucky was only 20 bucks!
I fell for this exact scam.
She told me her mother had just had a stroke and was in the hospital, she was rushing to see her but had forgotten her wallet and needed gas money.
I had serious doubts but.
She told me how she was so thankful and asked for my phone number promising she'd click me back.
You can probably guess the outcome of that.
It's hard trying to be a good person when there are those who prey https://slots-deposit-promocode.website/for-money/play-casino-online-for-money.html 'easy targets' like us.
I'm glad that you were also convinced that she was being sincere, because I really believed her and I am a decently cautious person.
I like that way of thinking about it.
Regardless, we helped someone.
It's a living for her unfortunately.
Although, I'm sure if you point that out, she would claim that the hospital is actually AGH North Side or UPMC East in Monroeville or something.
If she wants some damn money, let her get her lazy ass out of the car, legit or not.
Except for hot chicks, I'll stop for hot chicks.
I worked at Presby.
She once used the excuse that she had a miscarriage and UPMC wouldn't take her insurance.
She needed cash to take a cab to AGH.
I didn't buy it, but she's a fairly well known scammer in Oakland.
She always uses the same name, too.
I wonder if it's real.
You weren't physically harmed or frightened into giving up your money.
You're now a little more wise - if a little lighter in the wallet for it.
It still sucks, but perhaps if you look at it a little differently, it won't sting so badly.
Best I can do for you, jbee8.
Most generous people get scammed at least once, then they're forever wary.
Too bad that we have to worry about such things in the world, but that's the way things are.
Remember that people will try to scam you in a thousand other ways, not just those who are on the street.
People will rip you off when you're trying to buy a car or buy a house or a billion other ways.
Sorry to lecture, good luck!
Next time I will definitely be more cautious, and not just pull out money for someone right on the spot.
It definitely could've been a lot worse, though.
Same shit just a slightly different story.
When she approached me I was definitely skeptical of her, so I only gave her 10 bucks.
At the time I figured best case she actually was having an emergency and needed gas money and I was able to help someone out.
Worst case she was scamming me but I was only down 10 bucks.
I can live with that.
Never ever give people on the street money, period.
Saw him every morning for at least 3 years straight - "Hey man?
If their story involves some dire emergency, I usually offer to call 911 for them, arguing that if it's that serious an emergency, a cop should be able to help.
Typically as soon as I mention cops, they walk away.
Said she was a known scammer or something to that effect - this was about a year and a half ago, probably.
However, never hurts to report it!
He tells people his woman just left him and now he's stranded and needs money for some sort of transportation.
He asked me two days in a row.
I guess he forgot that the first time he asked me I loudly called him on his bullshit, but that's a junky mind for you.
I thought it referred to anyone who acts like a scumbag in order to acquire their next fix of -insert physically addictive drug here- because feeding the addiction becomes more important to them than morality.
A woman was asking me for bus fare.
Is it even illegal to ask strangers for money?
Fact is, people do this kind of stuff all the time and you're lucky you didnt have anything worse happen.
I was walking along Morewood avenue towards Chipotle when a she pulled up asking for money to buy gas.
She used the same story but without her kid.
She only had the car seat in the back, but she genuinely looked pretty frantic.
She said she was a flight attendant and went to UPitt blah blah blah.
Anyways it's good to get this kind of story out there to help others out - especially vulnerable college students like myself that don't know any better.
Thanks for sharing OP.
I like to more info of myself as an altruistic person and so should you.
Just because someone betrayed your trust doesn't mean there aren't people out there that might actually need help.
Honestly I doubt this woman even does what she does because she is an "evil" person.
She needs money just like the rest of us do.
The best we can do now is learn from the mistake and prevent is from happening again.
Next time just call the police when she or someone else approaches you for gas money because if the person actually can't get to where they need to go then they will help.
I appreciate your sweet comments.
I would rather give and end up helping someone than not give at all.
I had a woman tell me that she play 100 pandas slot machine game for free a mom who was being abused and needed money to get her kids to a shelter and her daughter with medical problems from the shelter to Children's.
I totally fell for it.
I believe they put those rules in place because of some high profile vigilante-justice-gone-wrong cases.
I was just angry and feeling bitter.

But I had heard about her from a friend so I told her i knew about her and ran behind her car and pretended to take a picture of her license plate.
She booked it down the road when I did that.
Odds are you won't get anything back.
However, your efforts of filing a report gets it on their radar.
If enough people would file reports police would be able to see patterns and perhaps find a way to be proactive.
Unfortunately too many people don't choose to do so.
Funny Story: We had lots of homeless and scammers always asking us for money.
I worked with a former Dallas cop who never even gave them a chance to finish asking.
One day I'm watching as he pulls back in after lunch.
A usual homeless lady mental issues, talking to herself, usually cussed us for unloading trucks outfront walks up to him and starts asking him.
I'm waiting for him to blow her off.
Instead he just reaches in play 100 pandas slot machine game for free pocket and hands her some cash.
When he comes in I say "WTF?!
I will say I usually cave if a homeless person has a dog.
I'll offer money for them to get the dog something.
Look closely at the dog - can you see ribs, is their fur glossy or dull, any visible sores or signs that it might be malnourished?
When I lived in Denver I had a next-door neighbor who had a full time job during the week and would go out on the weekends with his very pampered pup.
He'd rub a little mud into his fur and then just wash him off when he got home.
He commented once that he'd make more in a weekend than he did at his job.
Having worked with a local homeless shelter in Denver, I learned that the majority of visible panhandlers are usually fakers who just do click the following article to make an extra buck on the weekend.
My favorite Denver panhandler would set up shop source a Burger King at a busy intersection with a sign that simply said "visions of a cheeseburger".
Everything you said is exactly what happened with me.
Still can't wait for the day I see her again.
Let's get together and punch her in the face.
I'm a girl so I can say that.
If I ever see that lady again I will lose my temper!
I've lived here for 20 years and she's cornered me about 5 times now.
I learned about that real quick.
It's a shame because the one time somebody is genuine they won't be believed.
It was so dumb that she called me to give me her number too.
I was actually going to call and say I have all her information and will report her to the police for disorderly conduct unless she gives me my 20 bucks back.
Doesnt matter if I carry cash or not at that point, already told them its not for them.
They know that you are a captive while your car fills up.
Just look them direct in the eye and say, "I'm sorry, I don't have any cash on me at all.
My sister once had someone jump into her car, and do the same thing.
She pulled up at the intersection of Ellsworth and Negley and told me her sob story of how she got called in to her job at the airport, left her wallet, and didn't have enough gas to make it to daycare and to the airport.
I didn't have cash on me, but I definitely would have play 100 pandas slot machine game for free her some because I believed her.
She was even wearing a business suit.
A week later, she did the same thing at the same intersection.
I called her out and she sped off.
By that time, someone had already posted fliers for return money application my others about her.
You should report it.
I just feel bad for the baby.
All I had was a 20 dollar bill and I gave it to her.
This was during a time when I was really scraping to get by financially.
The second time I ran into her-- a year later outside of Home Depot-- I kinda wanted to smack her.
While I had hardened significantly during my time there because of all of the panhandlers, I did give her a couple of dollars for using a prop.
Maybe it's a dick move, but now I only give money to panhandlers if they entertain me in some way, or at least employ the use of a prop.
Really nothing you can do, except next time she approaches you, ask how her mom is doing!
The reaction is pretty priceless.
He claimed he worked at Home Depot and would mail me the money back if I gave him money to buy fix a flat for his car.
I said I money dota play for no cash, which was true, I felt bad until I realize the car that he claimed was his was there every single day prob belonged to the clerk.
People are tricky unfortunately you gotta be wary of everyone.
I just didn't have cash or I would've fell for it.
He wanted me to pay by card but I wasn't doing that and some people said he was probably trying to get my card number and address by saying he would mail me money.
I'm perfectly willing to help people, but its almost never a good idea to give cash to a complete stranger.
That being said, I actually did the same thing about a year ago.
A guy asked me for gas money.
I felt bad, so I have him a 10 and told him not to worry about it.
I was on a bike.
What chick on a bike do you think has gas money in south Oakland???
I help people, but she was full of shit and I told her to buzz off the second, third, and fourth times she tried it on me.
Shoulda called the cops even tho I'm not that type of person.
I'll get you something" - and play hold em money get them that thing.
Need a few bucks for food?
Ok, what are ya hungry for.
I'll get ya a hot dog and a bag of chips.
Pretty revealing when they turn that down, but occasionally somebody seems genuinely grateful and I'll get them some food.
Who knows, maybe I'm not really helping somebody in need, but at least I'm not funding their next line of coke.
I definitely will be doing this next time if I happen to be in this situation again.
I poked a bunch of holes in his story, and called him out on his bullshit.
Then he pulled out a knife.
Glad you're okay, too.
As a poor grad student, I can relate to how awful it feels to be essentially robbed.
I got the same education at a highway rest stop a few years back and my tuition cost was the same.
I usually go with "I'm sorry, I only have a credit card, good luck and God bless.
At least I wasn't THAT stupid.
I think I paid 30 bucks in gas because I felt bad for her.
Then the same thing happened again in a different car about three months later.
I did not buy her gas this time.
Glad I did it though, because if it was actually someone in need then I did help out, and what's 30 bucks to learn that this particular woman is a cunt?
Who brings a child into some fucking scheme?
The worst one, on me, was when I was like 17.
Working at Giant Eagle.
Group of like 2 guys 30ish and 2 hot girls 30ish came in.
All dressed really nice.
I can't remember the exact story, but bottom line is the guy said he worked at a car dealer and would not only pay me back the next day, but hook me up with a car.
Never saw him again.
I didn't give her any money, but I felt terrible.
This makes me feel better that this lady asking for money probably the same woman, since she gave me a similar sob story as well.
Many of them had the exact same story.
Even got asked by the same people saying the exact same thing from weeks before.
Surveillance video, if any, would likely back you up since you could probably just see you going up to the car then handing over a credit card.
Then when she went to use it, cops show up and haul her away for robbery and whatever else you included in your story, since I don't think "oh, they just gave me that because I asked to borrow it" would fly.
Actually recently had one of my credit cards used for fraudulent activity and flagged as stolen, wonder what would happen if I gave that already-fraudulent-flagged card away should this person ever approach me.
I just kept walking, she was annoying as fuck.
I used to think I was a good judge of character, but this lady was good.
I almost always give to someone who asks, but rarely more than a few bucks.
I'm a firm believer that if my intentions are good, then it'll come back to me somehow, even if they're taking advantage of my generosity.
If their intentions are bad, then they'll be judged.
And I like the way you think about it.
Pulled the same gig at least once a week.
Never gave her money.
Another woman would pave fifth and Forbes with a stroller and a blanket in it covering a "baby" she'd ask for money to feed said baby and I removed the blanket once to see her starving child and of course empty.
DON'T GIVE MONEY TO STRANGERS EVER.
I thought this was universal knowledge.

Over the last 4 years she's approached me at least 3 times, one of my roommates at least 4 times She likes to walk outside around dusk and looks sweet-heartedand all of my other roommates at least once 3-4 roommates over the years.
Each time we basically just say "same story different day?
It's an expensive lesson to learn, but if people really need help there are services that offer it, and if you really want to help you can donate to those services.
Next time you have someone ask you for money, just tell them you don't carry cash.
Edit: Also, there's a guy who hangs out near the Sunoco on Craig and claims to be visiting Pittsburgh for the first time.
His story is he got jumped and has to get back to -wherever- fast or he'll lose his job.
Can't you just help him out?
My favorite part of his story is how he mispronounces "Forbes" as "For-bees".
Watch out for him too.
It was amazing how he lady asking for money that bus trip every week.
I try telling people I don't carry cash, but read more people in the red shirts who ask for money for the children or whatever that are all over Oakland and Bloomfield say "Oh, that's no problem, we can take a card!
She told me about it later because she realized afterwards that it was definitely a scam same story- need gas for hospital, car seat in the back and I felt bad that she had been so naive.
His excuse was that he needed money for a bus transfer so that he could get downtown blah lady asking for money blah.
I didn't trust him so I said I couldn't help but if he wasn't in a hurry he could walk downtown in about an hour or so.
Then he walked away.
I think 1-2 days later he tried the SAME story on me again, not realizing I was the same person.
I just told him I didn't have money and walked away.
Walks with a limp?
Talks on a cell-phone in hiding so no one sees him do it?
If so, I see him all over the damn place.
The first time we met him he tried his story on me - by then I was just jaded enough to say no and walk away.
I waved her off and told her it was a just click for source, then watched my back the rest of my way home.
That's when I knew she was full of click to see more />It seems the airline thing got old so she switched to an attorney.
I feel really bad when they have a kid there with them, but I figure if they really cared about their family they'd be home updating their resume instead.
I am a poor grad student and she has my 20 bucks.
She does occasionally get arrested so if you want to contact police, you wouldn't be the first.
I'm sure police in Oakland are very familiar with her.
I am sorry she scammed you though.
She should be in the new student guidebook or something.
Thanks for the kind words, though.
I'm a grad student who is lady asking for money Pittsburgh but I've never heard the stories before!
I told my friends and they were like.
How have you not heard of her??
Let people know what is going on.
My grandma lives in the area and a news story would really help let older people potential targets know what to look out for.
Could anybody more law-savvy tell me what she'd be charged with?
I would love this to get more publicity because I know it has happened to a lot of poor and unsuspecting people.
I am a Pittsburgh native and have never heard anything about this lady, even though now it seems like she is quite popular.
They had her stopped outside online for money browser Benedum in the Spring.
She's been around for 2 years, and has been doing it in Squirrel Hill on Murray Avenue as well.
I just feel bad for the kid.
She hit me up as a freshman 4 years ago and I totally fell for it.
Luckily I didn't have any cash so she left with nothing.
She gave me the story of how she needed gas to get to the hospital.
Pretty strange, but whatever.
I thought this was the Pitt subreddit, so there's that for what it's worth.
She told me if I ever need representation to call her haha I think she might need her own lawyer.
Sorry this happened to you, hell it's happened click many many, but calling the cops or trying to mete out justice isn't going to change anything.
She told me how she was so thankful and asked for my phone number promising she'd pay me back.
You can probably guess the outcome of that.
It's hard trying to be a good person when there are those who prey on 'easy targets' like us.
I worked at Presby.
https://slots-deposit-promocode.website/for-money/play-travel-games-online-for-money.html once used the excuse that she had a miscarriage and UPMC wouldn't take her insurance.
She needed cash to take a cab to AGH.
I didn't buy it, but she's a fairly well known scammer in Oakland.
She always uses the same name, too.
I wonder play bejeweled for money it's real.
I thought it referred to anyone who acts like a scumbag in order to acquire their next fix of -insert physically addictive drug here- because strip online money the addiction becomes more important to them than morality.
I like to think of myself as an altruistic person and so should you.
I had a woman tell me that she was playing music for money mom who was being abused and needed money to get her kids to a shelter and her daughter with medical problems from the shelter to Children's.
